use OffScreenEngine for snapshot #148

This should fix #34 for Linux with at least VTK 5.8+

OffScreenEngine works fine on a headed Linux system with VTK 5.8.x and 6.3.0 but fails on the headless travis system even with xvfb. Not persuing further at the moment.
