I fell down a rabbit hole this morning, going through Logopedia's archives
Don't we all have this issue? Joking aside though - thanks for compiling this list. Frustrating that some of these icons have changed since we did our big review for the year! I'll crack on with a few of these when I get a moment.
There are still icons that need updates in https://github.com/simple-icons/simple-icons/issues/9072. Maybe we should bring them back here too!

Would it be worth starting afresh into a new Great Icon Review in the new year? We should be able to get PRs in for the ones on this list in the coming days/weeks.
Yep - I also think we can handle better by having separate issues / comments for each letter

Very much agreed and, taking it a step further, I would suggest that, given the size of our library now, that the Great Icon Review should be an ongoing, rolling letter-by-letter process - when(ever) we finish the Zs, we start all over again from the beginning.

More frustrating for me is seeing all those car manufacturers simplifying their logos now, after @runxel & I nearly drove ourselves demented back in the day working on their stupidly complex icons! 😆
Skoda was updated very recently https://github.com/simple-icons/simple-icons/pull/8919
What changed after that?

They simplified their eblem as part of the rebranding. Or was there a reason we had to use the wordmark instead?
Or was there a reason we had to use the wordmark instead?
At the time, the wordmark was the only bit they'd rebranded, and they specifically released guidance for just that.
I've done what I can here for now. Of the 3 outstanding items:
I haven't been able to find a static vector file. There are a number of animated SVGs in use throughout their about section, including in the header of their brand identity page but they were a bugger to work with; everything I tried just resulted in some part of the icon getting mangled. There is a link to download their brand assets at the end of that page as well as a link to a press kit on their press page but neither is working.
I haven't (yet) been able to find a vector version of their new logo. And, to confuse matters, they're still using the old one quite prominently, including in the loading animation on their website
The only vector logo I've been able to find so far is in the header of their website, but the path
s in it aren't properly aligned. There is vector artwork available in Google's Partner Marketing Hub but access is still restricted. We could consider again trying to contact them to request permission to use the official monochrome version.
Regarding Google Play, the problem is that the monochrome version is still restricted. Therefore, I don't think they will let us put in the repo, 'cauz everyone would have access to it.
Thanks, @Mvlprem 👍🏻 Could you open new issues/PRs for those, though, please?
I found an SVG for Google Chat but I can't quite figure out the best treatment for it - anything I try with outlines & cut-outs just feels like it's deviating too far from the original. Completely solid, though, doesn't quite feel right either, but it may be our best option. What do others think?
Found a cleaner SVG of Google Play at https://play.google.com/console/about/. Inkscape won't play nice when trying to add strokes to use for cut-outs, though, so someone else will need to give it a go.
@Mvlprem - please move any discussion of icons not in Peter's original list to their own issue - otherwise we'll never be able to close this one out!
I fell down a rabbit hole this morning, going through Logopedia's archives and found a number of icons we need to update or, at least, review. Rather than try to take them all on myself and put pressure on the @simple-icons/icon-review team or open individual issues that could get lost in the mix, I've created the following list for us all to work through together.
In some cases, the icon may already have been updated and I simply missed it and in others it's only the branding, logo and/or stylisation of the icon that has been changed so our icon won't need to be updated but the colour may, but a comparison should be done anyway to be sure.
If you're taking on anything on the list then please leave a comment below so we can check it off and so nobody else picks it up in the meantime.
