fixed authors on older versions of wordPress #5

@elubow some sites were not getting authors on the current version of the plugin. My blog seemed to get them, but it's on the latest version.

This fixed the issue for hybris (Jenn had access to their WP install so I could test) and still works on my blog on the latest version.

Didn't realize get_the_author was deprecated, good catch @andremalan. The original reason we put PID on the bottom instead of the top is because we didn't want people being tempted to change it. It's fine on the top, just noting the original justification. Otherwise, looks good to me. Merge and tag at will.
