Skeleton is a simple, responsive WordPress theme based on the Skeleton Boilerplate. It has several useful shortcodes, such as tabs, toggles, cross-browser CSS3 buttons, and layout columns. It also includes a bbPress skin/stylesheet and sample child theme.

Cannot reinitialise DataTable. To retrieve the DataTables object for this table, pass no arguments or see the docs for bRetrieve and bDestroy #77

Hi,

the Skeleton theme is really excellent. However, today I found a problem and I need help fixing it.

After installing tablepress plugin and creating tables I receive the following error when starting the page with a table:

"DataTables warning (table id = 'tablepress-3'): Cannot reinitialise DataTable. To retrieve the DataTables object for this table, pass no arguments or see the docs for bRetrieve and bDestroy".

Wordpress and all plugins are updated. From what I can see, the problem is in the theme. I tried again after switching to the WordPress default theme TwentyThirteen and the error did not pop up.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Kind regards

Christian

Without a link, I'm not able to reproduce this issue. You may want to check for JS errors and that the theme and plugin dependencies require and use the same version of jQuery.

Hi Casey,

thanks for your note. Here is a link: http://vat-wiki.de/?page_id=247

As I am not a web developer, I struggle with the checks you recommend.

Thanks for your support.

Kind regards Christian
