This will only work when we have Magister mail integrated but it could be really convenient for deadlines. We could let a user chose the files to send when the deadline is met and which teacher to send them to. (And the message).

lieuwex commented 9 years ago

Wait, we already had this as an idea as a core feature of projects. Although it:

  1. Wouldn't automatically sign in the exercise, since maybe somebody does changes you don't agree with.
  2. We use Magister assignment (were projects can be hooked onto) to sign it in, only if that fails or if there's no assignment we ask how and to who we should send it.
tkon99 commented 9 years ago

This is optional of course. We could create a switch for it. I'd personally love the idea in some cases in which you really can't go past the deadline.

lieuwex commented 9 years ago

But wouldn't there be a high chance that a project gets handed in when it's not done yet?

tkon99 commented 9 years ago

No there wouldn't... When do you set your deadlines? I suppose projects are finished when they should be handed in right.

lieuwex commented 9 years ago

But blindely thinking an project is done on the deadline is not the best option, there are many scenarios when somebody can't finish something in time, be it issues with the project or personal ones. And heck, maybe the deadline of the project changes and the user forgets to change it in simplyHomework.

tkon99 commented 9 years ago

As suggested earlier I'd make it optional. It's just that you don't have to think about it anymore. Furthermore you have these teachers that put penalties on handing it in late.

It's just that you don't have to think about it anymore.

That's the problem, isn't just asking the user on the day before and/or on the day of the deadline enough?

isn't just asking the user on the day before and/or on the day of the deadline enough?

That would be great and better in my opinion.

tkon99 commented 9 years ago

We might want to use emails (#51) for this in that case.

@tkon99 of course :)
