on the fly interactive shell management

being connected I may want:

1. to visualize the connection chain
2. to switch to a shell on any host in the chain
3. to add a host in the chain.
4. to switch bewteen exiting shells.

This will require some screen management. curses my do the trick or not. if not, that may require pty creation and management
