7 years ago I did a little test with Ningxia (representing the Ma Clique) to see what would happen if a warlord clique was added in now, I found out that large portions of soldiers in the Kuomintang army from Qinghai and Gansu have turned over to Ningxia's control. This shows that if the warlord cliques were to be added in the oobs of the Republic of China and People's Republic of China would need to be edited heavily in order to compensate for the warlord cliques,

The Sneaky Top Hat Having looked at some events in the China events text file related to Chinese warlord cliques, would it be realistic to put some warlord states into this mod at the 1946 startdate as some warlord cliques for example the Shaanxi Clique didn't fall until 1949 at the end of the Chinese Civil War.
simsulla Reading up on Yan Xishan I see your point (and there were more warlords under the Nationalist KMT umbrella than him). But the question is - how independent where they from the KMT? Enough to form an own "country"? Not sure...
The Sneaky Top Hat Well from what I researched many of the warlords in the 1940s were both governors of provinces and generals in command of their own armies. I do think that they were quite independent from the KMT as the reason they're allied with thr KMT was to fight off the Japanese invasion of China during the Second Sino Japanese War, before that the KMT had little control over the warlords, the warlords largely controlled the economies of the provinces they ruled and largely kept to themselves for example the Xinjiang clique under the reign of Sheng Shicai was more of a Soviet puppet state than under the control of the KMT. Also some members of the Ma Clique continued fighting in an insurgency against the PRC until 1955 event after the Chinese civil war ended.
