SimC Locks/Freeze/Crash Computer. #3516

Just started. I have ran several hundred if not thousands of sims and now every time I run SimC I receive a Overheating message of 65C and then computer locks up and have to do a hard boot to restore.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

I have followed several troubleshooting guides posted on these formals. No prevail.

With that space heater of a cpu, I would double check cooling on the cpu. Dust out the pc, check and make sure the cpu cooler is mounted properly, see if any fans are failing, etc.

Try running speccy - https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard - while running the simulation and see exactly how high the temperatures go before it locks up. 65 C isn't enough to bother any CPU, but if you see your processor shooting up to 90+c as it locks up, then there is a definite overheating issue that you will need to check out.
