Looks cool, thanks for sharing! What's the development status?
I see that the DAC is nice to lock the oscillator, but it may require quite a bit of external hardware. Would it be an option to integrate hardware to lock on a PPS signal (e.g. from a GNSS receiver or an atomic reference)? Or would this blow up this project's scope or real estate? Alternatively, maybe an EEM board controlled from a Humpback would be nice (or another board on the DI/OT backplane)?
We just ordered PCB and parts. Must wait for next release.
If you have some verified solution that performs such locking that would help. I'd rather lock it to 10MHz instead of PPS
We have also an idea to add WR timing receiver to this card
We must add a GPS receiver and some Arduino module to implement this approach. The Arduino counts 10MHz/2 cycles using its timer and compares it with the PPS pulse-adjusting DAC. This can, of course, be implemented in the Kasli because our module feeds a 10MHz signal to the controller and exposes DAC. One needs only to connect PPS to DIO. But more convenient would be independent timing input and local processing.
We plan to develop an EEM/DIOT card with a Wenzel-class oscillator and configurable outputs Initial spec:
