It would be super cool if you could benchmark a model and revert a time step is the current iteration as produced negative value overflow.

partially solved in 55bc3a8

approximates a local error for each time step and changes the time width until error is below a certain threshold
currently only for membrane transport
this pattern needs to be unified for all modules
