Crash at 50% zoom when many units are animated #49

During Heir to the Throne campaign, in the "Mulaf Malal Peninsula" scenario, many units may be present on the map, see screenshot (50% zoom) below:

In this situation, Wesnoth crashes and closes very often, I had to reopen and reload last autosave many times. If it could be of any help, I tried to disable unit standing/idle animations from the Preferences and actually the crashes almost disappeared (it happened only once since then).

Could it be some memory management issues?
