Currently, all of our consumed emissions factor data is labeled as "carbon accounting data". While carbon accounting is one important use of this data, it has broader uses as well, so I propose that we consider relabeling these data.
Reasoning:
These data include not only CO2 rates, but other GHGs plus NOx and SO2
Another academic use of the data is in attributional lifecycle assessment studies
Really these data are useful whenever you are trying to attribute some share of power system emissions to an end user of electricity
Other proposed names:
Emissions factors for consumed electricity
Emissions accounting data
Scope 2 accounting data
At the very least, we may want to update the description on the data download page to highlight these other uses.
