Steps to reproduce:
ProjectE is installed
Another mod (such as Witchery) is supposed to grant the Step Assist effect, to walk up single blocks without jumping.
In this specific case, this is related to Witchery's werewolf transformation.
What I expected to happen:
Step assist.
What happened instead:
No step assist. Only the Gem Armor boots are allowed to grant Step Assist if ProjectE is installed.
"No Gem Boots = No Step Assist, Period" somehow conflicts with and overrides several other mods which can otherwise grant this effect.
With ProjectE removed from the mod list, these other mods are again able to grant Step Assist.
This has also been observed on other versions of Minecraft and other mod setups. Advanced Genetics and derivatives cannot grant Step Assist if ProjectE is included. Thaumcraft's Boots of the Traveller... may or may not, I haven't actually tested that specifically.
