Adding Perl/Python support will make Android ROM distribution a lot bigger in
size.

I see no advantages adding *scripting languages*, because Android already have
C and Java-Dalvik support to do all things !!

Just don't make Android to be more Symbian (when Symbian added Python support,
they are fading away, and in reality no body want use Python-Symbian !!,
because they already had Java/JME)

P.S: Just my 2 cents ^^

Please see my comment 29 in issue 32. Adding interpreters to SL4A does not have
anything to do with "ROM distribution". It does have advantages, even if you
don't see them. The comparison with Symbian is silly. You should not file your
"2 cents" in an issue tracker. If you want to share your opinion, do so on your
blog or on the mailing list. The issue tracker is for bugs and enhancement
requests.

Please read and try to understand the project description at
http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/ to find out what the project is
about and what it is not. If that does not make it clear, feel free to join the
mailing list and discuss the problems that you see.

So, this project is not official Google/Android-supported project?
I'm glad to hear that :-)
