Is there a maximum USB cable length for reliable transmission? #9

Having finally received sino:bit boards, I tried to connect them to my host computers with a microUSB cable that works for a calliope-mini, but the sino:bit boards would not register themselves as MICROBIT drives. With the considerably shorter USB cable that came with the calliope-mini, both sino:bit boards work and register as MICROBIT and MAINTENANCE drives on the host computers.

Comparison of the schematic to https://github.com/calliope-mini/calliope-mini.github.io/tree/master/assets/v10/eagle shows that the termination network for the USB interface has been simplified.

Does the simplification affect the maximum length that a USB cable connecting a sino:bit to a host computer can have?
