Almost the ultimate combination: HarpJS + SurrealCMS ? #316

I'm really interested in giving clients the ability to make text amends to our HarpJS sites. SurrealCMS is the closest to perfect I could find, but unfortunately it's not quite going to work.

Perhaps the harp platform could be evolved to allow this kind of editing (see the surreal docs)?

Is anyone successfully combining HarpJS sites with other content management tools?

@silentrob prototyped a Harp Editor, but it’s fairly early and more something to check out if you’re curious right now. We’re not actively developing it.

It sounds like you already know about the Harp Platform, but it’s a great option if your clients are comfortable editing Markdown. You can share the project with them through Dropbox, and they can make changes to the text just by editing the files that appear. If you have more questions about that, feel free to email support@harp.io as well.

If you need to commit to a bigger CMS, Harp can also be great for building the initial static site that you convert into a CMS theme, but we’re big advocates of using static sites when you can.

Thanks Kenneth

Yup, I'd like to stick with static if possible. Thanks for the links and stuff, we'll check those out.

You’e welcome, Tobin! I’m going to close this issue now, but feel free to post more questions or email us at support@harp.io as they come up.
