Limits to number of files? "size: Killed" #276

I have a folder with 175 files under 300mb total. This does not seem like a lot to me. With this folder included in the site, surge fails to deploy. I am getting size: Killed. These are a mix of file types, mostly json and geojson. Is there a limit to file size or file extensions/types? Total project size is 625mb.

Limits are put in place to prevent abuse such as link farms and the limits are set extremely high. Surge still gives you plenty of rope to hang yourself with. A 300MB project would cost approximately $2400 to download while roaming. That's a lot don't you think? What kind of a project are you building that needs more space than that?

I don’t know what you mean by “would cost $2400 to download”. That size is for all 175 files, not 300MB each…that would be crazy! These are geojson (map files) for a variety of web maps. Anyway, I think the problem has nothing to do with surge (also had the problem with Netlify) but with processes taking up too much memory and being killed by the OS/host. I am on a digital ocean droplet with only 512 RAM. I have since upgraded to a 1GB ram droplet and will see how that goes. I figured this must be the case since my Jekyll serve process was even being killed.

Thanks

Malcolm
