Not updating my site. #323

It stops updating the site for some reason and then fixes itself if I keep deploying again and again.

I've had a similar issue for a few days too....but my site never changes any at all

Thanks for reporting. This is a new issue with our messaging system that propagates messages and cache expires to all our regions. We are currently implementing instrumentation to measure which machines are temperamental so we know what to replace. We'll also add redundancy to messages that fail.

Hi there is there any update on this situation?? I'm seeing the exact same behaviour.

We've rotated servers again and many have reported the issue is resolved. Still implementing the metrics to measure the communication validation between machines.

I can confirm that the issue is not with the deployment failing but with old cache not getting blown away. The edge nodes are designed to run even when disconnected from the surge network which means if the communication of the machines fails you end up with stale caches on the edge nodes.

As a temporary measure we may add a command to the CLI to blow away the cache. Would that make sense to you?

sure that would work for me.. getting the site updated is my main priority, however you see fit. Thanks for the prompt reply, great product!! I love it.

I can also confirm that the issue I had is now fixed. My site got updated the last time I tried.

If you were using Cloudflare, it is possible that Cloudflare's cache is affecting it: see https://github.com/sintaxi/surge/issues/359
