Question about Field Mapping.json file? #551

Closed jagnetta closed 3 months ago

Good day,

We're having great success with homer. I'm wondering if the field mapping .json file which can be downloaded is resident on the homer server somewhere so that on a new installation I can put the file in place through automation?

Thanks, Jim Agnetta

Hi Jim,

Mappings are stored in the database and available through the API which is documented in the admin section - so there's no file really other than the export. You can also override the default database creation format but that's just for new setups.

Thank you. Can the table be exported/dumped from the DB, and installed on a second server later?

Absolutely, you can do anything you want with the table and restore it on other servers if needed 👍

Ok. That makes sense.

Hi Lorenzo,

Sorry to bother you again. I've been through the homer_config and homer_data tables, I was thinking I'd find the mappings there. Would you mind pointing me to the right DB and table, please?

Thanks, Jim
