i need it too!
if the developer doesn't have the opportunity to independently build Uboot and Kernel it will very bad. I don't need Debian, I want to customize rootfs and use Buildroot or Yocto in my projects, for this I need kernel and uboot source codes.
I see new product from TI: https://www.ti.com/product/AM68A
SoC with 8 tops NPU, but all software, included BSP in open access.
it seems to me that if you do not open the documentation and source codes, you will lose a lot of computer vision developers who want to use your product in their projects.
Absolutely agree with this. Without open source kernel or at least headers the board are unusable for many projects and just a toy with auditory like "try you NN on SoC and drop it to trash bin"
Any news about kernel sources ?
Came here for the same reasons and a long time has passed since the last poster. No sources to customize is most likely a showstopper for us.
Btw, not 100% sure, but doesn't Axera by not releasing sources violate the GPL licence?
Hello there!
At the moment the Debian image is released with kernel and u-boot binaries but no source code. This is a bit of a headache as it means you cannot build kernel modules or update the kernel.
I understand that Axera requires an NDA to get the source code and Sipeed would release code if they could. Does Axera have any plans on doing public code release?
