Won't extract #618

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The Unarchiver won't extract anything, it just freezes every time I try to
extract something! (picture)
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, but nothing works. It's a shame,
because it's a great application...when it works.

What do I do?

What exactly happens with that screen?

Also, if you have any programs installed that modifying the operations of other
apps, please try turning them off first.

I've tried the following (same happens, when just double-clicking archive):

/Applications/The\ Unarchiver.app/Contents/MacOS/The\ Unarchiver
/Users/mieszko/Downloads/macx-iphone-ipad-video-pack.zip
2013-01-18 13:11:55.433 The Unarchiver[97996:7103] RVS:__54-[NSRemoteSavePanel
_runOrderingOperationWithContext:]_block_invoke_0319 : Timeout occured while
waiting for the window

Right after I issue that command, it shows up a window (see screenshot), but
nothing else happens. After a moment, window disappears, and that message is
show (only in console, when running from it of course).

resolved after:
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/cx.c3.theunarchiver.*
rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/cx.c3.theunarchiver

Happening again, after I've set, that it should ask where it should extract
archive. Used to work before (stopped after one of the last updates).

That seems like some kind of internal OS X problem. Are you sure you don't have
any programs installed that would mess with save panels?

Only one, that does something to Finder - Total Finder. but after disabling it
nothing changes (it wasn't even updated in the last month so nithing should've
changed)
I also use Bartender (but disabling it didn't help as well).

Either way, the error message doesn't sound like something The Unarchiver has
control over, so the problem seems like it might lie elsewhere.

What exact version of The Unarchiver and OS X is this on, by the way?
