[Bug]: Inconsistent Filename Sorting in M³ 24.10.9 on Windows and macOS #2917

What happened?

I tested M³ version 24.10.9 on Windows 11 24H2 and macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, and I noticed inconsistencies in how files are sorted by filename across these platforms. The sorting order in M³ does not match the way Windows and macOS sort filenames by default. Additionally, M³ for Windows and M³ for macOS sort filenames differently from each other.

I really appreciate your continued effort in releasing updates for this polished and useful app, but this sorting inconsistency is causing confusion when managing files.

To Reproduce

  1. Open M³ version 24.10.9 on both Windows 11 24H2 and macOS Sequoia 15.0.1.
  2. Add a group of files with different filenames.
  3. Compare the order in which the files are sorted by default in M³ on both platforms.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected M³ to sort filenames consistently on both Windows and macOS, following the default sorting order used by the respective operating systems.

Should be fixed as of 8cb666cac1bf0f0dee9896f6d278c5c07231aade. Please let me know if the results in the soon-to-be-released 24.10.10 are more consistent with what you expect.
