Julia version 1.1 #14

We need to just merge these fixes into master. We have successfully tested it across a couple machines. If anyone has any problems, please open an issue and/or propose a solution :).

I added a new branch for v0.6, which is the state of the code before this merge. This is in case anyone has a version with v0.6 working and needs to revert some code.
