I don't have much to say:

I don't know sqlahelper, just that it is outdated
I don't know what is zope
I've never configured a sqlalchemy session myself So to me it's a good example on how to do it and one day, when I'll do it myself, I'll dig into sqlalchemy documentation and come back to this PR to say you did a good job :)
