Install plugin on SpringSource Tool Suite Version: 2.5.2.RELEASE #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install STS

2. Install model2roo dependencies (Eclipse Modeling Tools and the latest ATL
distribution, Roo already installed with STS)

3. Copy model2roo.jar to the eclipse/plugins directory (sts-realease/plugins).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Following the GenerateRooFromEcore Wiki tutorial, I don't get the Model2Roo
system menu. So I can't continue with the tutorial.

I spect to have Model2Roo system menu.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

- STS 3.5.2
- Java 1.6.18x64
- Roo 1.1.1
- model2roo 0.1.1
- Windows 7 Premium x64

Please provide any additional information below.

I check the installed plugins and it is not in the list.
(Help->About->Installation Detail->Plugins)

Try to force installation thru bundles.info manual insertion of the plugin.
(\configuration\org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator)

Nothing traced on eclipse.log.

Obviously Model2roo plugin is made to work with Eclipse 3.4. (plugin.xml line
#2: '<?eclipse version="3.4"?>').

Plans for Model2roo to work with STS 3.5.2 and Eclipse 3.6.1?

Despite this problem, a great idea!

Hi,

The Model2Roo plugin is designed to work with any Eclipse based distribution,
including STS, as long as the required EMF and ATL plugins are installed. The
EMF plugins are already included in the Eclipse Modeling Tools, so if you
choose not to use this particular distribution, follow these steps to make sure
they are installed in the distribution of your choice:

1. Install a traditional distribution, following the steps in:
http://code.google.com/p/model2roo/#Plugin_installation

2. Copy the contents of the 'plugins' and 'features' directories from the
distribution you just installed, to the corresponding directories of your
preferred Eclipse distribution.

On a side note, the Eclipse version in the plugin.xml file doesn't restrict the
execution of the Model2Roo plugin in modern versions of Eclipse. We developed
the plugin with Eclipse Modeling Tools-heliossr1, and tested in STS
2.5.2.RELEASE, 2.5.2.R1 and 2.6.0.RELEASE, all of them based on Eclipse 3.6.

Best regards.
