So, oddly enough, this is a fake acid pack. See this old interview:

"Do you have any comments on the recent actions of Rai and the eclipse guys (releasing the fake acdu0996 pack) or the hacking of the eclipse whq, apparently in retaliaton?" "I first learned of this by word of mouth and later discovered the actual file on our Artpacks Archive... I don't really agree with someone releasing false packs, but at the same time it was really hard to take their release seriously. I am confident that no ACiD member was responsible for the formatting of Rai's hard drive and relabeling it NOECL-ACID."

So, do archive this? Do we change the filename? I'm not sure yet. Let's ping the others!

I thought there might be something like this going on with this archive.

It's still ANSI and the year should be correct, so... :) Some clear remark about it not being a genuine ACiD should still be in order.

fcambus commented 10 years ago

I would say it should be archived as indeed, it's still ansi :-)

Maybe we should create a new directory? Something like "misc", which could also be used to expand the archive? There could be a "misc/fake" directory for this pack ;)

We could also have a "misc/compos" and archive IRC compo packs, and so far and so on.

@fcambus @pyllyukko Been too long for this, but maybe change the file name to acdu0996-fake.zip and modify/prefix the .diz file?

pyllyukko commented 6 years ago

modify/prefix the .diz file?

Like how?

tracker1 commented 6 years ago

@pyllyukko extract the file_id.diz file, and prefix some info regarding it being a "fake" release. :-)

pyllyukko commented 6 years ago

My question was more in the lines of "prefix with what?", and not about extracting/editing.

pyllyukko commented 6 years ago

Are the file_id.diz files used somewhere? I kinda feel that modifying something inside the ZIP breaks the integrity of the pack. Being fake or not :)

pyllyukko commented 6 years ago

Well I guess it's still there in the Git history, so it might not matter that much. Note added.
