Cannot shrink a JFrame, can only make it bigger

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Grab any edge / corner of a JFrame
2. Drag to center of JFrame
3. Drag away from center

Expected Output: I expect the JFrame to resize as I drag the edges around.
Observed Output: Only dragging edges away to grow the JFrame seems to work.  
JFrame stays the same size if I try to shrink it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? What
JRE version?
Java 1.6u35 (JDK6 version)

Please provide any additional information below.
Windows XP 64bit

I tested this and this is no problem here. Might be an problem that was already 
fixed by one of the many changes. 
Please try the newest version from the repository with Java 7
