Compare Moses to Jesus. Compare Sinai to Acts. Compare Joshua to Revelation. Compare the layers of the OT Kingdom to the layers of the NT Kingdom.

The major arcs:

Deliverance / Freedom
Camping / Preparation
Battle / Victory

Consider the parallels between the tablets of the Law and the Spirit with the Law written in the heart. Perhaps the parallel between Moses coming down the mountain is more about the tablets and gifts. The Gifts Given in Eph 4:8 and the Psalms.

Look for the key parallels between OT and NT in the three major story arcs.

The earthly things of the Old Covenant served as a shadow of things to come under the new covenant:

[Heb 8:5 KJV] 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

We can understand the New Covenant by understanding the pattern laid out in the Old Covenant, beginning with Moses.

The Covenants are about a Kingdom and the journey God takes to get His people there.
