A good read on Kinsman Redeemer: http://www.abideinchrist.com/messages/lev25v25.html
Some key points that are highly relevant here:
When Jehovah died, the first marriage with Israel ended and the land was placed on the auction block so to speak. We see the evidence of that today. But it is the resurrected Jehovah that will buy back the land and enter a new marriage that will bring forth fruit!
Ruth 4:10 records the Redemption of Ruth by Boaz. A key work is “purchased”. Need to understand G4740 more clearly. Also need to review OT usage.
As Eph 1:14 shows, there is a difference between what we have now and what will happen when we are fully redeemed.
Theory: the restored Kingdom is tied intimately into Kinsman redeemer. Christ is the one to redeem the land and promises to Israel. How critical it is to understand the word “restore” in Acts 1:6.
When the disciples were commissioned to go out into the world, it was with this ministry they were sent: preparing for the kingdom. This is actually the restoration of something old!
Can there be a Kingdom in force without acknowledgment of the King?
It is critical that Christ did not come to destroy the law and prophets but to fulfill them. Fulfilling is part of his Kinsman role. Matthew 5:17-18.
How does the Kinsman Redeemer help us understand how Christ fulfills or completes the OT. Recall that Christ taught both earthly and heavenly things (John 3:12).
