Sought behavior:
In list , grid and large icon view when selecting multiple items (i.e. checkboxes are visible),
when user Shift + LMB clicks on an item checkbox, all items between the last checked/unchecked item and the currently checked/item get checked/unchecked. The intermediate items are check or unchecked depending on status of the current (clicked) item.
If no items are previously checked and the user Shift + LMB clicks the checkbox - all items, preceding the current item, are checked.
This behavior can be observed in Windows Explorer etc.
