Notch or bend to make spring more secure? #26

Hey Seth,

Happy holidays!

Just got my sorter running on christmas eve, still working out some kinks, I thought of some improvements that I'll post for your consideriation. I'll make an issue for each one.

Consider a notch or bend to make the spring more secure?

I put a 4mm hole there and put an insert with a screw. IMG_2011

I like your idea foe the spring attachment. I am using a silicon band to connect to the tension device. Your idea is much better and I’ll be doing this as well. I drilled a hole for the Allen wrench to tighten the set screw on mine. I also used my Dremel to grind the motor shaft so the gear would sit lower as the flat section of the motor shaft would not let the gear go low enough. This is proving to be a great project. I shoot mostly rife and the larger cases still fit the .308 sorter cylinder and lid. It will be a while before I can finish it up as my printer is taking a while to print and I just purchased it the end of November. So getting everything setup and learning the printer has been a journey as well. So far, it has been pretty fun. John...

I like this idea as well. I am currently putting together a bunch of changes and combining them in a 7.1 folder. I think I may use this idea though after adding the notches on both posts, the spring stays put pretty well. I have also redesigned the tension cam a bit as it now has a groove for an oring around it which gives it better gripping power on the case and also less noise as it slips through to the next cartridge.

John, the new gear is nearly half the height and should solve that interference issue. It is available now in the classifier folder
