It would be nice to get a mirror in China. Thanks!
Hello @aledie and @AdrianTM, we are glad to inform you that we will mirror this repository! Rsync is now in progress, and once it completes, we will update this issue.
Great idea... MXLinux needs to be more readily accessible within the PRC.
Hello all, the sync has completed. Now these repos can be accessed at https://mirrors.sjtug.sjtu.edu.cn/mx-packages/ and https://mirrors.sjtug.sjtu.edu.cn/mx-isos/ . Could you help test these mirrors to see if they really work?
@htfy96: thanks a lot for your great support with providing this new mirror! I used it last night, seems ok and pretty fast (I'm in Beijing). If any problems, will let you know.
I've added some tips for usage at https://mirrors.sjtug.sjtu.edu.cn/#/. (Use Ctrl-F5 to force refresh page if you don't see it) If there is anything wrong, please reopen this issue.
By the way, I've submitted a request for becoming an official mirror. Progress on this will also be tracked in this issue.
@htfy96: thank you! Just a comment regarding the tips given. It's a bit different from standard Debian - instead of a single sources.list MX has several lists antix.list, mx.list... You will see it here: https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/repos-mx-17
The easiest after installation to just upgrade the system (or mx-repo-manager) and then just select your SJTUG mirror in MX Repo Manager. (SJTUG mirror was already added to our sources 2 days ago in the latest version of mx-repo-manager).
Sure you can also manually edit the lists and then upgrade (as download from SJTUG will be faster then from mxrepo.com). For MX-17 the extension is 'stretch' and not 'mx17'
@aledie Thanks. Guide updated.
@htfy96:
1) SJTUG mirrors have been added to MX/ antiX sources, and listed on the projects websites: MX: https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/iso-download-mirrors antiX: https://antixlinux.com/antix-packages/ https://antixlinux.com/download/
2) Please check your mx-packages mirror, it seems not having synced updates since 12/6/2018, 11:49:39 PM (status Failed)
@aledie I've noticed that for a while and currently I'm investigating this issue. The cause seems like overload of upstream or a bug of our syncer
@aledie Looks like upstream/net terminates SSH connection too soon when no data being transferred. Unfortunately when recovering from a partially-synchronized file, rsync may spend ~2min to checksum a large local partial file before receiving data.
I've specified ServerAliveInterval 3
on the client side as a workaround to this issue. I will report this issue to upstream to see if they can tune ClientAliveInterval
.
