Purpose of loading environmental map into tutorial4? #7

Hi, I am trying to do implement a dual robot mapping on a floor at our school. This means that I have no information of the current floor and it must coordinate and map the area automatically. Would this library help do that? Or do I need to have input floormap? The goal is to somehow generate the floormap using the mapping.

Yes, with the Navigator and an exploration plugin a robot can build the map autonomously. Note that in tutorials 3 and 4, the map-image is only loaded into "Stage" to provide a simulated environment. Within the ROS system, only the generated map from the mapping is available.
