I tried on several browsers. Does anyone have any luck getting past the, pressing check and waiting, segment?

Looks like the underlying service (CORS Anywhere) is no longer free to use as of a week ago:

https://github.com/Rob--W/cors-anywhere/issues/301

I can't blame Rob for making this change, and I appreciate that he ran it so openly and freely for as long as he did. Thank you, Rob.

I'm not interested in maintaining yet another service in order to keep this running, so this likely means the end of this tool, too. I'm unhappy with the direction reddit has taken in recent years — particularly the awful redesign and aggressively pushing their garbage mobile app — so I'm simply not interested in putting much effort into improving reddit. Though, to their credit shadowbans are now much more carefully targeted than before, which also makes this tool less important. When I first created this, I routinely saw shadowbans used against obviously human users, which was needlessly cruel.

Perhaps there's still some way to detect shadowbans without a third-party service, maybe through the (likely forgotten) JSONP API. Though this is difficult to test without access to a shadowbanned account.
