This bookmarklet is a handy way of loading skewer on any given page.

No problem. It doesn't seem to work on https sites, at least in Chrome, due to security issues -- the request back to localhost for the skewer js isn't secure, so it gets blocked. I'm not aware of an easy workaround, but perhaps the Emacs httpd can trivially be made to serve https...
