If you hold down a key, and change the window, and release the key, the key will internally remain to be pressed in the program, until the key is pressed again. This can have issue with keys not registering due to modifier key being pressed before hand. This also completely breaks Alt+Tab shortcut on Windows, requiring you to use Alt again.
