Loved the NESS submission in the Makers against Drought challenge though curious to learn more what's happening now and what's next for the project?

Hello, Hello! :)

NESS is actually doing great, even though it's been stripped of IoT functionalities for now to keep a lower price (until bigger series can be manufactured, which will bring the price way down). Sadly, I'm no longer involved in the project. as I'm now working abroad, but keep an eye on it, it'll surely get even better! :)

Cool! What's the easiest way to stay abreast of updates? Is there a twitter account I should follow?

Probably this repository or my twitter account (@Fins_91) would be the best way, because even if I'm not directly involved on the next step, there will be some movement on the repo for sure. You can also check http://nesswater.com/ or @Metrica6 , but sadly it seems they haven't found the time to add English support yet :P.
