How will eliminating parking requirements change the built environment? #160

Houston doesn't have zoning, but it does have parking requirements. This turns otherwise buildable land into a place to put your car. As parking requirements are lifted in certain sections of the city, how does this create an opportunity to remake the landscape? What should the infill look like?

I think another angle to approach this from could be to help determine where shared parking/ parking districts could be created within the city. A parking garage could be built to serve a commercial district allowing individual businesses to use their land devoted to parking for some other purpose.
