What happened to the roundup? I haven't seen any updates lately. Please, come back! :)
I miss them too!
Yes. Me three.
@skial No pressure or anything, just wondering: are you still planning on keeping the roundups?
I can only imagine how much work goes into writing weekly roundups, and it's admirable that @skial has done it so consistently for so long after all. I can't in good conscience demand anything from him, as this is his voluntary effort and we can only be thankful for that.
However I do miss the roundups. Maybe the roundups would benefit from becoming a community effort? If I recall correctly some of the past few editions were written by @Gama11 for example. By shifting toward a group effort and clear submission and collaboration guidelines we could make this work :) We could involve the Haxe foundation as well. The roundups were a joy to read, kept us up to date about new libraries, new opportunities, and the evolution of the language (to name just a few). I think the Haxe foundation would be interested as it helps promote the language and strengthens the community. Either way, I think the roundups can be brought back as a community effort.
@fullofcaffeine, @Ohmnivore and @stahlratte thanks for the comments
Sorry for the late reply.
Short answer is yes, I intend to keep the roundups going, I'm just sorting out real life stuff, so haxe.io has been put on hold for now.
Imo, the submission process has never been an issue, just post a link to the github repo and I'll include it. But the uptake has been minimal. Anything more like an article, just talk to me
Long term outlook, to avoid things getting in the way of roundups being published, the hf posting them themselves as a group/community effort would be more durable.
I've got reservations to other some of the other points but I'll try and remember to talk about them at a later date :+1:
