Education is the biggest asset of any nation. The more literate people, the better is the stability of the country in terms of finance, education, politics, etc. For removing geographical and financial barriers, the world has now moved to the internet for better education.
So, the government has also started providing learning resources for free on the internet. But in many developing nations, there are a lot of people having no or very little internet connectivity. So, the poor people are still deprived of the high-end learning resources which are available for free to the rest of the world.
My project is targeted to provide those people with the resources that they need without any internet. The compression engine which I have built works in two phases:
One side of the engine is filled with resources by crowdfunding or say by contributions from people those having stable internet connections and are willing to upload some textbooks or good learning resources including government organizations
The other side of the model is data transmission. The resources that are uploaded are then parsed and converted to small GIFs of QR codes. Those QR codes can then be displayed on any national television channels at a fixed time of the day so that the people not having internet connections can directly scan the QR code from the scanner app to download the resources directly into their mobile phones without any active internet connection
🔦 Any other specific thing you want to highlight?
The model that I have made is flexible enough to encode and decode multiple file types like doc, pdf, txt, etc. Apart from that, it is also able to compress audio files. I am also working on video compression and it will be also added as a functionality soon. So, resource sharing won't be limited to text files or PDF only.
