Firefox 3.5.4 and Greasefire 1.0.4 don't work #6

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Update Firefox to v3.5.4
2. Install Greasefire 1.0.4

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the fire outline from the tray icon in Firefox no longer appears and the
"Update" text from the Addon's preference is blank and the button doesn't
seem to function.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firefox v3.5.4 with Greasefire v1.0.4 on Ubuntu Karmic 9.10

Canonical just pushed through a Firefox update to version 3.5.5 - still not
working.

Hm this seems to work find on 3.5.5 on OSX. I'll try it on Linux later today.

well apparently it's AppArmor, I simply disabled the FireFox 3.5
**
sudo ln -s /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.firefox-3.5
/etc/apparmor.d/disable/usr.bin.firefox-3.5
sudo apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.firefox-3.5
**
and voila everything works again!

If you download the add-on at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/421 you
can install Greasefire and override the max version.
