Having a written RFC for the CL protocol would increase the chance of this outliving the current set of maintainers.

Same with the DT ‘DB’ file format, movie files, image compression, and probably more stuff I’m not thinking of.

I would volunteer to write it, but I’m assuming I would need to know the protocols already. If not, count me in.
