Unable to make a new sound pack #366

Open qwertyplanes opened 3 years ago

I made new soundpack files and named them the same as the other files and changed their file type to .opus and it gives me an error and tell me to re-install betterpushback.

Is there like a tutorial on how to make a new one?

I never create a opus file but I'm sure you have to download a opus codec and encode your files with this codec. To rename a wave or mp3 file only seems not to be working.

I changed the files to .opus from the .mp3 file format and it didn't work.

Opus is a different codec. This can't be working by renaming the file extension only.

It's the same as you write for INTEL on an AMD CPU or vice versa. The content (hw) didn't changed.

So as mp3 and opus are different you have to convert your mp3 files to opus.

I found some online converter at my Web search and it seems that audacity is also able to export to opus too.

Maybe this hints are helpful to guide you to the right direction.

@qwertyplanes As @dornus said, you need to convert the files to .opus. You can do that via Audacity, a free program. If you are interested in more packs, I made a collection of new sets available here: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/65338-betterpushbackc-extra-soundpacks/
