Note about TC Needle Holders #65

Open mwmalinowski opened 10 years ago

mwmalinowski commented 10 years ago

I think we should indicate somewhere that TC Needle Holders (to my knowledge) never have standard serrations. Generally when a TC NH has "Serrated" it should actually be Cross-Serrated.

I'm not sure if this is something we should include in the Tip End Style section or if we should start a file specifically for the idiosyncrasies of Needle Holders.

Thoughts?

Would it go in Tip End Style or Working Surface Style where serration details commonly go?

I would say include it in both areas. I think it is simplistic enough to be included in the guide as well as a Needle Holder specific file once we establish a repository for instrument specific rules

mwmalinowski commented 10 years ago

Serrations of any kind almost always go in Working Surface Style. Sorry for the confusion; I didn't mean to write Tip End Style.

sklar-sherryp commented 10 years ago

To clarify, this is specifically for TC Needle Holders?

mwmalinowski commented 10 years ago

I think it may also be true for all TC Forceps--I'm not sure.

@mwmalinowski

Added to Working Surface Style for TC Forceps - indicating that they should be either "Smooth" or "Cross-Serrated" however, I was not able to find any with a smooth surface today. Will look for examples or a general rule stated somewhere & then add to guide.

I can't find any examples in my data. You can easily find examples in TC Needle Holders.
