Updating the website #15

Open kfdavies opened 5 years ago

kfdavies commented 5 years ago

After our August meeting, our current goal is to make the website more useful and interesting so that it becomes a resource for our members and may help to attract new members once we work on our membership drive, which we will probably do next.

  1. Morgan will work on having the current website material migrated to the new format.
  2. Sarah will poke around to find features we may want to add, including a link to our twitter feed.
  3. We may try to add a logo to our website and twitter feed. Kendi will investigate getting a grant so that we can hire a logo expert to make a logo.

Content to add:

  1. We discussed improving the "links to long-term data sets" page. Christie is looking into this (I think I am not capturing everything here -- please update). We may set this up so that anyone can add a link to a data set in some moderated way.
  2. Interesting papers. These may be collated through the twitter feed (?).
  3. Funding sources.

Response from Jonathan at ESA: For your website, we need to get some work done, and I’m glad that you brought it up. As you can see<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.esa.org_ltss_&d=DwIGaQ&c=sJ6xIWYx-zLMB3EPkvcnVg&r=GFFDru3dyPFmyRyLcoQi4guTxN76eLlQvOiu6N9YYoA&m=XiAlrJv3ldeXANcl5voX9mVrk3gBl5FDl_l2NNdYu3c&s=nnY2F2jLLxVF5kEOKJ8tUJEnxDv18qgft7McAPM0SMs&e= >, you were migrated, but so far with only minimal content set up. I just did a quickie build using the content you already had in place, so you can get an idea of the structure, and see the how-to guide in the chair guidelines for detail on how the various parts all work. Morgan, I just updated your account to admin, so you can do anything; Kendi, there isn’t an account in there associated with this email address, but we can set that up for you, too, if you like.
