Sorting in this game is quite heavy. Even if it's fixed, it'll be very slow using our current implementation.
Hmm... what to do?

Just to ask.. Is this emulator based on nulldc? Becasue i know that nulldc has the exact same problem... One version of nulldc has working ui tho.. Think its version 1.04 r50

Just tryed 1.04 r139.. Has working ui but other bugs which make the game have red flares all over the road on longer distances

Dreamcast emulators for PC have more advanced features because the hardware can take it and can mostly "fix" the issue if you mess with their related options. This is true not only for the emulator you mention, but for the rest too.
It's just that this particular games abuses one of the Dreamcast features so much that "fixing" it would drop speed a lot using our current approach.

Tokyo Extreme Racer 2 is quite playable with missing menus. If you want to go to garage, just press START, then the UP button once, then A - do the same to surrender to your rival. The only thing that I really miss is the map, but I'm already half way through the game, so it's not a problem too.
However, I have some additional issues, that are very irritating and make me really angry. 1st is that s0metimes the game just hangs and goes to bios, or just freezes during the race and the only way out is to kill the process - but few last updates of the emulator are much more stable - July 7, 12, 18 - thank you, developers. I believe that most people face this issue with differen games - it's fine coz the emulator is Alpha. The second issue pisses me off much more (sorry) - I use the touchscreen buttons coz I don't have any controller and when I drive a car, the buttons simply stop responding - it happens 5-6 times per 30 minutes in average - rarely I can play the whole hour without this bug - thank you our lord :-), but in most cases they just randomly stop working at any time - it lasts for 5-10 seconds and then they work again - but in most cases they stop working again almost immediately... sometimes I wait for 1 minute and if the skies are good to me I can race for another 20 minutes without issues :-) In most cases some buttons work while the other freeze e.g - START button works always. I believe that you understand how it is when you race with a rival and then suddenly your car's engine stops coz the acceleration button doesn't work, or you hit the wall because the right/left button stops working. I just want to crash the tablet (and it is my girlfiend‘s). BTW - the tablet is Asus MeMO Pad FHD 10 - Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 (1.5 GHz), RAM 2 GB, Adreno 320 graphics. Android 4.2.2. I've tried different versions of reicast - from 20140620_782 to 20140718_796 and the one that is available on playmarket for the last month or so - the problem still stays. I've tried different emulator options + haptic feedback on/off, in game vibration setting on/off - nothing helped. I cannot check the game on other devices right now, I also don't have a physical controller. Please, help me out! Thanks

Would like to notify that most of tokyo xtreme racer 2's user interface is missing. Have tried all the settings and have had zero sucess. This kinda renders the game unplayable since the menu to go back to garage is broken too.
