since the test on the dev branch was successfull, i.e. the image was built and pushed to docker hub, we can merge into master

image

I added the respective jobs as a github-action workflow and merged it with the existing github-action workflow.

Every push to master or dev will now trigger a build and push to hub.docker.com

I am not able to test this. What you say sounds good, though. So +1 from me.
