Difficulty understanding how Red5Phone it functions. #120

I'm having difficulty wrapping my head around how this software works.  

We have Red5 and Red5Phone installed.  All fine and good but why do I need to 
type in my DID providers sip server address into the phone client?  Shouldn't 
Red5Phone be handling all of that so the phone client doesn't have to?  And if 
Red5Phone is supposed to do that were do I enter this information" (stuff like 
SIP server address and user name/password for my provider)  I'm missing 
something obvious here.
