Why did you join sktime's mentorship program?
The passion I have for open-source and eager to learn.
Sktime is a great learning opportunity, with an enriched community where I can grow professionally and share my knowledge. My contribution is valuable as I am sure many tools will use some of my written code. The time I'll spend with more experienced researchers and programmers in the field will add value to my knowledge.
What topics are you working on?
I'll mainly focus on the Scaling backends, foundation models, PyTorch, darts and PyTorch-forecasting with sktime. For the first month I'll mainly be working on darts. And more about the coordinated issue can be found here: https://github.com/sktime/sktime/issues/6381What are your learning goals?
Gain a solid understanding of time-series data analysis.
Gain in-deep knowledge about research and methods development.
Improve my programming skills.
What's next for you after the mentorship program?
After the program I look forward to continue maintaining sktime, and work closely to the open source field. Continue research in the time-series field.
