Hi @fkiraly, I will like to work on this issue
Great, @Anonymous-gh0ST! I assume you have video editing experience?
We'd need to give you some level of access for this to work. Would you kindly be able to ping myself, @GuzalBulatova, @aiwalter, @TonyBagnall on slack and provide us with time slots suitable for an introduction meeting, and some examples of your video editing work, e.g., on youtube?
I really appreciate your reply, but I think I misinterpreted the issue's details earlier when I checked it. I thought it was kind of a documentation writing for a video edit, because I saw a "documentation" label tagged on the issue. I'm so sorry for the mix-up @fkiraly , my sincere apologies. Though, if it is something that I can do without prior experience please let me know, I'll be willing to work on it
no probs, @Samuel-Oyeneye! We're indeed looking for someone who's already done this kind of thing a couple times - "no prior experience" is also sth our core devs have, as said above 😄
Hey @fkiraly I think I can help in this regard, I have a channel https://www.youtube.com/@convergeml where I did edit my own videos. Happy to discuss on discord, like how many videos and how this may work..
@shoaibkhanz, that would be great!
I was thinking, recording (or re-recording) the main tutorials, possibly also recording smaller features for specific frequently asked questions? Let's chat on discord!
yes sure lets connect there, we could re-record with more focussed deep dive tutorials.
Reopening this after a period of conferences, @shoaibkhanz.
I think the highest impact opportunity on what to record is the forecasting tutorial by @marrov: https://github.com/sktime/sktime-tutorial-europython-2023/blob/main/notebooks/03_forecasting.ipynb
This rework by @marrov is more use case oriented than the main forecasting notebook and therefore more suitable for a frontal presentation. We have had a lot of positive feedback about it when presented at multiple conferences. Unfortunately, pydatas have stopped making and sharing recordings of tutorials (reason is unclear), so none of said conferences has resulted in a professional video. We should therefore simply make our own.
Next priorities for me would be the pipelines notebook, and then the new classification notebook.
PS, @marrov, I see you are missing some badges - there should be at least bug
, blog
(for work on the ODSC blogpost), example
, ideas
(general sktime roadmap), question
(discord helpdesk replies), and of course tutorial
plus talk
(for ODSC).
And after this, we may have a couple more video` badges for everyone :-)
Over the years, sktime core devs have recorded a number of videos which contain tutorials for users or developers. Most of these have been shared only on small scale, at developer sprints etc.
We would like to make this available publicly on the youtube channel, but they require some degree of cutting, editing, etc, and familiarity with youtube.
There are currently no sktime core devs with that expertise unfortunately - but if someone in the community does, it would be of great help to sktime (and a good first issue). It would also be really nice for the rest of the community to make those videos available.
